There is something mysterious about the word ‘space’. Many people believe that there is another world somewhere in this mysterious ‘space.’

If you too think the same way then you are hugely mistaken as there are some chimps that can also go to any space mission and they are the real champs. ‘Space Chimps’ brings to you three of the most amazing astronauts to thrill you with their antics.

Storyline/Synopsis: The story revolves around the Space expedition of three incredibly dazzling chimps namely Ham, whose grandfather was the first chimp to go to space before any manned mission, Luna and the strongest of the lot, Titan. These three astronauts, ‘chimps’, have traveled to another galaxy through a Black Hole and lands on an unknown planet. The story takes an intriguing twist when these space chimps decide to clear off the misery of the inhabitants of that planet who are toiling under their cruel leader.

Now, these astronauts decide to end the tyranny of the leader as well as try to get back to the earth. But this is not an easy job. So the big question is can these champs be able to this task? What obstacles come in their way in this out of the world journey?

Strengths: The greatest strength of the movie is that that it is for all ages. Especially, the kids would enjoy this animated chimp flick. The voice-overs are done with great ease. One gets a smile on the face just at the sight of the amazing chimps. I am trying hard to find out the strengths of this entertainer, but I guess, besides being a family entertainer it has none.

Flaws: You all know that finding faults in a movie is a critic’s favourite part and I am not an exception.

Being very Frank, I would like to confess that I hate cheap animation movies and Space chimps is no different. With the advancement in visual effects and animation technology, one wants to see some dazzling animation movies. But after watching this movie, you would be disappointed because there was a huge scope of improvement. \No doubt the movie is entertaining but those who have seen one of the finest animation flicks of our times i.e. WALL-E, would surely agree with me if I say that this movie can be made about 10 years back. And who said the movie is hilarious? The monkey jokes are not so-funny as they should have been and I am sure, those who have seen this, would agree with, if I call it an outdated-animation movie.

My ratings for the Movie **1/2 .i.e. Two-and-a-half stars out of Five. One for comparing it with WALL-E, one star for the expectations I had with the movie and another half because kids don’t believe in reviews.

Do I need to say more? If you still want to watch it, then wait for the DVD or check out the movie at your nearest theatre.
