Review of THE INCREDIBLE HULK

by top54u.com 24 Jun, 2008

The ever green Hulk is back and this time he is not alone. The angry green monster has found a worthy opponent Abomination. Whenever a sequel comes out, there is bound to be a comparison but Marvel studios have definitely done a marvelous job by coming out with a much improved and really incredible hulk.

Released on: 13th June 2008

Genre: Action, adventure, Sci fi, Fantasy

Star cast: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Tim Blake Nelson and Tim Roth

Directed by: Louis Leterrier

Story and Screenplay writer: Zak Penn

Music: Craig Armstrong

Storyline/Synopsis: The Sequel of the Hulk starts with the scientist, Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton) trying hard to find the antidote for curing that unusual aspect of his personality, which is beyond his control. He isolates himself and somehow tries to avoid meeting his love interest, Betty Ross (played by Liv Tyler). The Military General "Thunderbolt Ross" (William Hurt) wants to exploit the rage within Banner for their Defence superiority.

The Story takes an exciting turn when the Incredible Hulk finds a worthy opponent "the Abomination" (Tim Roth), whose powers are no less then the Hulk himself. The Incredible green Monster is in a fix as which way to go.

The Big question arises whether Banner should lead a prosperous life or serve the New York City from getting destroyed! Should he save the mankind from Abomination and himself suffer with that fierce angry beast within him! What would the hulk do?????????

Have a sneak peek of The Incredible Hulk.

Strengths: All the aspects of the movie are much much much better than the earlier one. Starting from the main lead, the acting career of Edward Norton is definitely going to progress leaps and bounds after the show stealing performance as Bruce Banner.

What the audience missed in Eric Bana, the audience got all of that in the mind blowing acting of Norton.

Liv Tyler played her part very admirably and the chemistry of Tyler and Norton is just awesome.

William Hurt hurts the hulk with his cruel intentions. All other actors have delivered their performances with quite an ease and decently, however, one name that stands out is of Tim Roth, who has done his ferocious role of Abomination with perfection. Tim Roth truly makes up for an able and worthy enemy to hulk.

The special effects and visuals are a hugely improved treat to watch. The action is simply fantastic and storyline is good with more sense to it as compared to the earlier one. The direction is amazingly thrilling and the young French director surely knows what it requires to make ‘The Incredible Hulk’. The action scene in the climax involving the fight between the hulk and Abomination is a sheer delight.

Flaws: There is no denying the fact that the movie is a much improved and likeable version as it has all the essential ingredients of a marvelous sequel. But still there are some flaws in the movie which reminds me that I am a critic.

The movie is gripping but somehow loses the pace at many points. Also some effects are too special that they just look crappy and a pinch of sense of humor is missing.

My rating for the movie *** ½ i.e. Three and a half Stars out of Five

If you like action and violence flicks with a dash of CGI, then ‘The incredible Hulk’ is surely for you. The sequel would not disappoint you at all if you compare it with Ang Lee’s Hulk.
