Mamma Mia! Just saying these enchanting words brings a smile to your faces. Now Universal Pictures brings to you a movie by the same name that will mesmerize you with its fascinating plot and musical extravaganza.

Who out of the three possibilities would be the real father?

But this is quite a hard nut to crack.

Can Sophie be able to find out her real dad? How would Donna along with her two true and best friends Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski) handle the situation? What would happen to the idea of a perfect Wedding?

Strengths: Meryl Streep steals the show, she can sing, she can dance and off course she can act. She looks mesmerizing in the character of the single mother. Her performance further raises the bar her earlier movies have set for her. Amanda Seyfried looks charming. Pierce Brosnan is dazzlingly brilliant, Colin Firth is incredibly amazing and Stellan Skarsgard is superb. The movie is entertaining and the fans of ABBA would surely love this musical. If you have seen Greece then you would love this movie and if you haven’t seen Greece yet then Mamma Mia would make you fall in Love with Greece. The locations are just fabulous. The dances are fascinating and the comedy sequences in the movie are just too good. Catherine Johnson deserves a word of praise for writing such hilarious screen play. The dialogues are amusing and bring a smile on the face.

Flaws: I must say that most of the actors are not used according to their talent. Julie Walters was a sheer delight to watch but she was not used properly. The Movie is entertaining but only because of the actors and the screenplay. The Direction lets the movie down; I feel sorry for the debutant Director Phyllida Lloyd but let me confess that I could have done a much better job as a director. Another amusing thing that I want to share with you is that while watching the movie I noticed the young crowd laughing a lot, after the show was over, I got a chance to know their views on "Mamma Mia" as they were laughing throughout the movie. "We were laughing at the lip synching", was the response I got. After watching the movie, I got the assurance that Pierce Brosnan can’t sing. Do I need to say more?

My ratings for the movie ***1/2 i.e. Three-and-a-half stars out of Five. One star each to all the three possible fathers (pun intended) and another half for making me laugh.

I have to admit that the movie could have been a bit better and I tried hard to dislike the music, but on every song I could not stop my foot tapping along with music.

Check out the musical at your nearest theatre and come out singing ‘Mamma Mia’!
