Storyline/Synopsis: Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) is a science professor and he lays down a hypothesis which is completely discarded by the class of academicians. The hypothesis according to the class of so-called geniuses is just an idiotic notion and Professor Anderson is foolishly stupid to lay such a hypothesis. But on an expedition to Iceland, Trevor and his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) along with their gorgeous guide Hannah (Anita Breim), discovers the hidden secrets of the earth. The excitingly dangerous journey deep down under the surface of the earth makes them realize that there is a different unknown world below this earth. The deadly encounters with many thrilling and out of the world creatures makes their life more difficult. The journey to the center of the Earth includes many breathtaking twists and turns as they have to fight a two way battle, one of finding their way back and other the battle for survival. Can they be successful in it? What is the truth behind the hypothesis that makes Trevor a laughing stock? What are the discoveries deep beneath the surface of the earth?

Strengths: The greatest strength of the movie is the 3D format and not only kids but whole family would have a jolly good time watching the Movie. The Oscar winning visual effect Director Eric Brevig should applauded for making this spectacular roller coaster movie. The movie is fast paced and the amazing visuals would make you jump off your seat. Especially, the Fish in the movie make me feel some sort of a heart attack. Acting wise, Brendan Fraser stands out in the character of a science Professor with a discarded hypothesis. He plays his role with ease as well as perfection. The other brilliant performance comes from Josh Hutcherson, who is just awesome. Anita Breim has done full justice to her character and is superb as the dazzling guide. All the other actors gave decent performances but Seth Meyers’ performance is remarkable.

Flaws: I have to say that if the movie had not been in 3D then it would be an ordinary movie. It would be more appropriate to say that the movie would be nothing short of a crap without the 3-D effect. Even it looked like a video game at some moments. Also there are many scenes in the movie where the actors act a bit too casually. Without saying much, I would just say that there is still a huge scope to do justice to the novel of Jules Verne.

My ratings for the movie***1/2 i.e. Three and a half stars out of Five. One star for the Direction, one star for the decent performances and one-and-a-half star for the thrill provided by the 3D effect.
