Love him or hate him, but you just can’t ignore him. Yes! I am talking about the dashing and smashing boy, who looks like hell. The fantabulous HellBoy is back.
Universal pictures bring to you the much awaited sequel but what is more exhilarating is that that the Hell Boy has to face the Golden Army, whose only motive is to destroy the mankind and rule the planet. Academy award nominated Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo Del Toro is back again on the director’s chair after his much acclaimed and entertaining Hell Boy.

Strengths: I used to believe that there are only two types of directors, one who make good movies and the other type of directors are those who make not-so-good movies. However, Guillermo Del Toro made me realize that there is third type of Directors who make a masterpiece and not rest on the laurels of that movie but keep up the good work and raise the bar of expectations with every movie. Directors of this third type strive for doing better their own best. Hell Boy released in 2004 was no doubt a good movie, but this one is awesome. The visual effects are mind blowing and add charm to the grandness of the sequel. Ron Perlman has delivered what exactly was expected from him. He is just perfect in the lead role. He has got style, wit and is just fantastic. Luke Goss is fabulous as the evil prince and Doug Jones is wonderful as Abe. All the other actors have played their part quite decently. But the best part of the movie is its direction and Character designing. HellBoy 2 is pulsating and vibrantly fast paced.
Flaws: Well! The movie was just too good that my son is still under the aura of this mind-blowing action flick. So if I would write anything not-good against the movie, then you can understand what would be the result. I fear that he would call the HellBoy to teach me a lesson. Anyway, I don’t fear the HellBoy and I have to say that there was a scope of improvement in the story as I found it less engaging as well as less believable when compared to the first one. After watching the movie, I can assure you that don’t expect any sort of acting from Selma Blair. She fails to show her acting talent (if any).
Oh! My son is coming, so let me conclude that the movie has a lot of potential.
In short, I would say that the Sequel is much much much better than the first one. HellBoy II; the Golden Army is a must watch and worthy of watching in theatres.
My Ratings for the movie **** i.e. Four stars out of Five. Do I need to say more?
