“BRICK LANE” is based on the Best Selling Novel of the same name written by Monica Ali.

The Movie revolves around a young 17 year old Bangladeshi Woman, Nazneen (Tannishta Chatterjee), who comes to the London of  the 80’s for an arranged Marriage to a much older man Chanu Ahmed(Satish Kaushik), leaving behind her loving sister and home back.

Nazneen’s sister Hasina (Zafreen), however is living her life as a free bird. And Nazneen with dreams of her future and the preaching by the elder women to live her life as her destiny, Nazneen somehow decides not to fight with her destiny and devotes herself completely towards her family. But when she comes in contact with Karim (Christopher Simpson), an angry young man, Nazneen too discovers a new trait of life.

“BRICK LANE” highlights the different opinions, different cultures, different emotions, as well as different ways of looking at life in a very subtle style.

The Movie has won many Awards and has been appreciated in every film festival not just because it is like yet another Immigrant movie but BRICK LANE has the soul that expresses many things by just not saying them.

The Star cast is full of Asian Actors and all of them have performed their roles with great ease. Especially Tannishta Chatterjee has played the character of Nazneen with such an expertise that it looks as she is the real Nazneen.

Christopher Simpson is awesome in the role of Karim.

The Director of the BRICK LANE is Sarah Gavron and the job is done with perfection.
