Before the Rains Movie

Storyline/ Synopsis

Set against the backdrop of Indian Nationalist Movement of 1930’s, Before the Rains movie illustrates the conflict within an English educated Indian Young man, T.K Neelan, as he finds himself in a vicious circle of the traditional culture of his motherland on one side and his own professional aspirations on the other.

“Before the rains” includes the illicit relationship between Neelan’s Boss Henry Moores (Linus Roache) and his sensuously beautiful maid-servant Sajani (Nandita Das). Henry Moores wife and son comes to be with him in India and the story takes a dramatic turn when the villagers get to know about the affair of the people of two diverse cultures. What happens when the two altogether different worlds collide?

The Cinematography of the movie is a masterpiece. The colonial atmosphere and the southern India have been shot with great perfection. All the actors have delivered stunning performances especially Rahul Bose is too fit in the role of Neelan. The Movie has been appreciated at many film festivals.

Flaws: Well! It is an awesome movie and uniquely different from hard core commercial flicks, so if you come across any Flaw then it should be kept out of mind.
